Baška
Baška is one of the best known tourist resort on the island of Krk, the Adriatic’s biggest island.
The town is located in a gentle valley and in a bay surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and flowering broom, with a picturesque background of the rocky mountains of Velebit and the islet of Prvić, which seem to shelter its unique 1800 m long pebbly beach, justly said to be one of the loveliest in the Adriatic.
Baška
The Croatian birth certificate - the Baška tablet was found here in 1100. Baška is also recognizable as having one of the largest and most beautiful pebble beaches on the Adriatic, which is in a semicircle and more than 1800 metres long. The naturally fine sand provides, especially for children and non-swimmers, spleaure on the beach, as the sea level increases gradually.
LIke other villages on the island of Krk, even this village's old part contains the narrow streets and houses positioned one close to the other so that the atmosphere is typically Mediterranean.
Apart from its beautiful beach, Baška is also interesting for its characteristic architecture, numerous cultural and historical monuments and its surrounding tour paths. Baška is also recognizable for its high quality accommodation facilities, from hotels and camp-sites to private accommodation capacities.
Beaches
Baška is surrounded with around thirty pebble beaches that are accessible to swimmers of all generations.
The biggest and most beautiful one is Baška’s Vela Plaža, the Big Beach, right in the centre of town, backed by bars, restaurants, pizzerias, cafés, hotels, private apartments and other tourist facilties.
Aktivnosti
Da bi svi zaljubljenici gorskih visina mogli posebno uživati u šetnji i planinarenju krajolicima i uređene su i markirane turističke staze Baške, kojih ima 19, ukupne dužine preko 90 km. Ima ih jednostavnih, ali i zahtjevnih, teških, tako da svatko može birati stazu prema svojim mogućnostima, želji ili trenutačnom raspoloženju. A kada osvojite neke od vrhova, ostati ćete bez daha, ispred Vas pružiti će se prekrasni vidici. Za sigurnost dobro je imati kartu šetnica, koja sadrži opise i obilje korisnih informacija, te upućuje izletnike na sve ono što ih na putu očekuje.
Osim turističkih staza i fenomenalnih mogučnosti za planinarenje, Baška obiluje i sa biciklističkim cestovnom i MTB stazame te sa nekoliko atraktivnih penjališta.
